Gigapan-Google Earth Tour

This is a virtual tour made using Google Earth and imported gigapan's featuring the Rutgers Mason Gross School of Arts and the surrounding areas in downtown New Brunswick along George Street.

In order to make this video I first chose a song and edited it down so it would fit under 4 minutes. I then adjusted the volume so that it would sound uniform throughout the video and not overpower the visual effects. I then used Google Earth to record videos of different content. Afterwards I cropped the clips down and sync'd them up best I could with the music track.

All in all there was a little bit of difficultly with the software not being able to do everything I wanted, and the choppiness of Google Earth, combined with trying to squeeze so many ideas into under 4 minutes, made the video turn out to look pretty poor quality, in my opinion.

Iron Maiden Tour History Motion Chart

This chart was made for my Information Visualization class, ITI:321. It visualizes the entire touring career of Iron Maiden into one chart!

To get it to work right just set the following values with the drop down menus on the chart:

  • x-axis = Time
  • y-axis = Number of Dates
  • size = Duration (in days)
  • Color = Tour Title

After that just press play and you'll be able to see their whole career span.

Coffee and Climate

For ITI:321

This map was made in Google Fusion Tables and shows climate change data in countries that export coffee. This compares the countries that the coffee is grown in and compares it against a set of data that shows the country's average climate change in degrees Celsius.

Surely we are all doomed to drink tea for our morning boost if we do not stop global warming   :-(
